"The Current quickly became a safe space for the Lord to use as my refuge and to grow my faith. The community is welcoming and friendly, it’s easily one of my favorite places to be! I’m so grateful for the meaning friendships that have added value to my life! The Current has been a place God has laid things on my heart is such a clear way, as with ONC too! "

Reid, Alissa, & Summer

Young Adults Directors

Hello! Our names are Reid Jones, Alissa Jones and Summer Shuskey and, with our powers combined, we are your leadership for The Current! Between the three of us, we have over 18 years of ministry and leadership experience and we all call Osborne our family and our home. We know that the young adult years can be tough to navigate (we’re still living through them ourselves!) and we are passionate about helping young people learn how to be deeply rooted in the soil of God’s marvelous love and to lean daily on His grace as we walk through life together.

And now, a little on each of us…
Reid grew up on the mission field and had already traveled through many parts of Asia and Africa by his early twenties, (ask him about the time he slept with lions!) but at 21, Reid felt God calling him to settle down and to step into leadership at The Current where he’s been faithfully serving for 4 years. When Reid’s not at church, he works as a cook in Bel Air and spends most of his free time relaxing with his wife Alissa, gaming with his friends and trying out new recipes. And learning how to rap…we can’t leave that out!
Alissa started going to Osborne at a young age and has served in various ministries including worship and dance.
Alissa also served as a youth leader for 6 years before she began attending and serving at The Current, instantly feeling at home with the people there, and especially with Reid. (ask her about their awkward love story!) When Alissa’s not at church, she works as a Registered Nurse and spends most of her free time with her husband, family and friends and enjoys baking and daydreaming about the puppy she’s going to adopt with Reid!
Summer began attending Osborne at age 11 when she was just a shy little puff of curly hair! She quickly became a part of the Osborne family, serving in dance, worship and children’s ministry. In 2017, Summer attended a Discipleship Training School (DTS) with outreach to Romania and France (ask her about her outreach experience!) and has been serving at The Current since her return. When Summer’s not at church, she studies psychology and works as a nanny to 2-year-old twins, (yes, it’s as terrifying as it sounds) and spends most of her free time hanging out with her family and friends and watching Friends reruns on repeat!
